Student Camp

At the end of July, the students and staff packed up and went to camp! We drove a few hours to a peaceful resort close to the ocean. After room assignments were given, nearly everyone walked out to the beach. The students were grinning ear-to-ear, running, and playing in the small waves.

The theme of the camp was The Chronicles of Narnia, with a focus on unity and respect. The students were randomly divided into teams and had to compete against each other in various games. Each staff member was a character from The Chronicles of Narnia who could help the teams, while the White Witch came to sabotage the teams’ progress.

After days filled with many lively games, we spent time in worship and prayer in the evenings. It was a very nice atmosphere where we could hear the sounds of crickets at night and not the loud traffic of Bangkok. All the students said they slept so well.

On the last night, a group of students and staff went to the market to buy food to prepare for a barbecue. When they returned it was all hands on deck to prepare the meat, vegetables, and sauces. We spent the evening barbecuing and enjoying each other’s company.

When we returned, all of the students said they felt closer to the staff and had so much fun. They all wanted to know if we can go next year as well!
