I completed the first leg of my 2024 fundraising trip, spending time in Fort Worth, OKC, Tulsa, Siloam Springs, Nashville & Huntsville.
It’s been good for my soul to catch up with many friends and partners. I’ve met with over 65 people individually, plus spoke with a few groups. I’ve seen childhood best buddies and dear relatives too; some that I haven’t seen in more than a decade. There’s still more of you to connect with and I hope to meet soon.
The church in Norman was wonderful and a few small events went great too, but the event in Tulsa didn’t have the turnout we were expecting. Since I have not been able to fundraise in person since 2019, it’s been a little challenging tracking everyone down. Also, hearing all the updates our donors have experienced these last four years has been good, yet emotional. Several have lost their dear spouses; lost jobs, or retired. Several churches have also lost a lot of their people, their budget, and how they can give to missions overseas has shifted.
All this to say, friends, churches, and other non-profit leaders (and missionaries) are reporting that Americans are maxed out, worried about the election, the economy here, financially stressed and struggling. It makes absolute sense, yet I’ve seen such sweet glimpses of hope and joy spread throughout it all.
Like two sweet girls giving their allowance to help boys in Bangkok.
How many of you offered their guest rooms, a meal, and time for a deep conversation and hug.
I see the anxiety and I also see such fortitude and faith in many of you.
Therefore, the new funding DtonNaam needs hasn't come YET. Our US Board, Gik and I have been praying and brainstorming ideas. We want to spark a little joy and inspiration, and also make it easy to get involved. Here’s our goal and we need your help!!
Our DtonNaam team wants to budget enough for 20 students to enter our recovery program in 2025!! That’s $350 per month per student. They might stay six months, but most stay a full year. This support gives the student the means to cover their own expenses, such as their rent, food, daily travel, etc so they can focus on their personal healing and daily learning at DtonNaam.
That’s $7,000 USD per month to walk alongside 20 students: to pour into each student daily, helping them physically, emotionally, medically, mentally and spiritually. This in turn impacts their friends, family and neighbors.
We already have about 62 monthly donors!! You guys have been our BACKBONE and pillars during the last few years. Some of you even increased your monthly gifts during financial struggles, and your consistency and love is simply amazing. We only lost about 8 monthly donors since 2019, and that’s unheard of in the NGO community. Even that blows me away.

THANK YOU for all you've done to support DtonNaam, and please pray about how you might partner with us in new ways.
