August 9th was our 12 year anniversary! We have been giving trans and male sex workers the opportunity to start a new life whether that is through education, healthcare, counseling, and/or vocational skills training. To celebrate this BIG milestone, our goal is to raise $12,000 US in celebration of 12 years. This funding will cover education, visas, medical, and job training costs for our current students and enable us to continue serving them in the future. Imm’s Story:
“If I can extend the contract (my time) with DN, I want to pursue being a professional hairdresser and be able to own a barber shop. I don’t want to aim so big. I just want to transform the happiness for each individual through the charm of their hair styles that they would access from my hair cut service. I would love to see people satisfied and confident from the beauty that I create in their head. I believe this work brings value and dignity into my life even though it is not a significant google or life changing compared to others.
I would like to thank God a billion times from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to meet each and everyone at DN. Teachers and staff are like my own family to me. They all care about details about my life like no one else does. I get to learn barista, bakery, language classes, how to budget money, Bible, computer typing, cooking, how to live a healthier life that help to boost my confidence to step forward for a brighter future. Mostly how to have compassion and mercy for my neighbors. Please help and guide me as I am walking to achieve my goal to be a hairdresser and able to own a barbershop.”
