We exceeded our fundraising goal!

Great news! We not only met, but exceeded our fundraising goal for our 12 year anniversary! Thank you so much for your generosity. Because of you, FOURTEEN students continue to have the opportunity to pursue education, have access to medical care, learn new skills, and have up-to-date visas. $6,000 will go towards job training, $4,000 will be put towards education, $1,500 towards medical, and $500 towards visas. More importantly, though, you give our students, like Jaw, the opportunity to dream. You can read his story below. What a great way to celebrate 12 years!

Jaw’s Story
Jaw is from Mynamar and is the main provider for his family, who are still there struggling with the political turmoil. “While each and everyone has their own dream, my dream is to be a professional hairdresser and a professional barista. There is a saying that it is never too late to learn. It is never a waste to learn. They all are important parts to implement my dream. I want to speak English proficiently and travel around the world. Thus, I want to walk forth my education and career.

It is not wrong to say teachers and staff are my motivation and my parents. I want to thank each one of them for being supportive of my life. It was not an accident that I was part of the DN family. I thank God for allowing me to meet teachers and staff here. All teachers and staff treat me and have compassion on me like their own children. They all guide and train me not to lose focus and pursue a better future. I am immeasurably thankful for all the things you have done to me. Sometimes my life was miserable and in great distress emotionally, you all lift me up and speak life to me. You all are the energy source of my life that gives me a decisive heart, not a propensity towards surrendering. I need to be alive for my dream to see the dawn of the morning that is arising soon for me. I always remind myself that I must hold on to my dream to see the dawn of the morning.”

Since April 2020, we’ve helped Jaw learn more Thai, more English, barista, baking and cooking skills. We also provide counseling, financial planning, a safe place to learn, and have sent support to his family as house repairs were needed…

Thank you for giving and making this work possible!
